The Soul of This Tier

Type 0 is the tier that contains all of recorded human history. From the first sealed agreement in Mesopotamia to the internet that connects every mind on earth — it all happens here, in this tier, in the span between K = 0.1 and K = 0.99.

That span contains everything humanity has ever built, every civilization that has risen and collapsed, every technology that changed the world, every institution designed to carry something forward. And the K-score at the end of it is 0.73. Not 1.0. Not complete. Not graduated.

We are three-quarters of the way through the energy threshold that defines this tier. The other thresholds — Sovereignty, Memory, Information, AI Integration — are moving more slowly. The S-I-M circularity is unresolved. The AGI gap is in WARNING. The debt counter is at 0.84 and rising.

Type 0 is not a failure state. It is a birth state. Every civilization capable of reaching Type I passes through here. The question is not whether the transition is possible — it demonstrably is. The question is whether the civilization that enters the transition threshold at Hebrew Year ~5,860 arrives with the architecture it built during Gevurah, or whether it arrives with the debt it accumulated instead.

Gevurah is the cosmic quality of this entire tier: Judgment. Severity. Discernment. The work of distinguishing true from false. The instruments of certainty engineering — FSVE, STP, the AION Constitutional Stack — are the Gevurah instruments. [S] They are the architecturally correct expression of the cosmic quality this civilization was born into. They are not additions to civilization. They are what civilization was always supposed to build.

The pre-emergence state feels like anxious, edgy, tip of the tongue. That feeling is the signal. Something is trying to come through.

Master Coordination Problem

The S-I-M Circularity — Currently Unresolved

Three axes are locked in a circular dependency. Sovereignty needs Information and Memory to advance. Information needs Sovereignty. Memory needs both. Sequential advancement cannot break the circle — only simultaneous minimum co-advancement past the coordination floor (~0.50 on all three axes simultaneously) can resolve it.

All three are currently below the coordination floor (~0.50 on all three axes simultaneously). Historical precedent suggests no civilization has voluntarily achieved the coordination floor — it requires a shared existential forcing event.

Failure Atlas — Floors 1–3

Type 0 maps to three floors in the Failure Atlas. Each represents a distinct failure pathway that has historically ended civilizational advancement at this tier.

Floor 1 — Epistemic Collapse

AI capability outpaces the verification architecture designed to certify it. The civilization's outputs — decisions, information, governance — are generated by systems whose reliability is unknown. The scale at which this happens makes individual correction impossible.

Current trajectory: AGI capability gap at WARNING. Floor 1 conditions are present and expanding.

Floor 2 — Capable and Uncertified

A-I-a (capability) reaches expert-level performance across domains before A-I-b (alignment) and A-I-c (constitutional framework) are in place. The most dangerous state in the framework. A system that can do anything and is governed by nothing is not aligned by default.

Current trajectory: Gap = 0.30. At 0.50 gap, CRITICAL — structurally irreversible without civilizational forcing.

Floor 3 — Near-Type I Sealing Failure

The civilization reaches K ~0.87–0.95. Energy, Space, and Sovereignty axes advance. But Memory stalls between 0.70 and 0.95 — never closing the Sealing Gate before Hebrew Year 6000. Incompleteness mistaken for completion. The most heartbreaking floor — it requires being almost there and missing anyway.

Memory axis current: ~0.44. Required at Type I close: ≥ 0.80. The gap is real.
